In-Home Education Sessions

For expectant, intended and prospective parents and their support people, to lay the groundwork for a more informed and confident birth or more peaceful days, nights and relationships after the baby comes. Start strong by planning ahead.

In-Home Education

Childbirth, infant care, and/or postpartum & new parent education sessions, provided at home to you and your partner (or other support people—including grandparents). May be booked in increments of two or four hours.

Topics can include:

  • How birth works—for you and for baby

  • How long is labour—really?

  • Coping methods to consider—and practice

  • Mental preparation

  • Pain relief options—risks, benefits, and possibilities

  • Natural—and assisted—induction methods

  • The birth plan—prep and flexibility

  • The realities of time, rest, resources and good humour in the hours and weeks after your baby’s arrival.

  • How to build your village, set your boundaries, call in support, and delegate responsibilities so that you can recover, get to know your baby, and preserve—and perhaps deepen—your existing relationships.
